Rehoming our gorgeous Staffie/Ridgeback Jay

We got Jay from Dogs Trust as a puppy. He has been with us 8 years now. He's a gorgeous, loveable and boisterous dog! Typical of his breed, he is very strong and energetic, while also loving cuddles and attention.

Jay is an indoor/outdoor dog. He slept outside for 3 years. He now sleeps indoors because we don't have secure boundaries but he likes both. He needs a big enough garden as he has a lot of energy. Like all dogs, he doesn't like being left for long stretches indoors on his own. He should be walked daily and we regularly let him off the lead in parks/on the beach. He loves being out and about exploring!

We are rehoming Jay because unfortunately he just isn't good with kids. We have a 20 month old daughter and they aren't getting along. He is great with adults but feels threatened by her arrival and just hasn't accepted her. He hasn't done anything serious but we don't feel he should be around children. This is a devastating decision for our family but it's the most responsible one given the circumstances.

We will want to vet any potential new homes for him. We won't just hand him over to anyone. He has bee with us for years and we love him.
